Background
Tanjef Szellas is Director of the product management department for Confocal Microscopy at Leica Microsystems, one of the leading providers of microscope systems, with headquarter in Wetzlar, Germany. He graduated in biochemistry and did his PhD thesis at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysics, followed by a post-doc at the University of Göttingen. He started at Leica as an application specialist in 2004. Subsequently, he held various positions and was responsible, among other things, for the market introduction of the first commercial super-resolution microscope (STED). Identifying future life science trends and addressing them with innovative imaging solutions is key in his current role.
Involvement
Tanjef Szellas acts as managerial interface to Leica Microsystems. Volker Schweikhard, PhD acts as subject matter expert to investigate the establishment of Stimulated Raman Scattering (SRS) workflows as a method for quantitative imaging applied to compound characterization, reaction and transition.
